Why Watermelon Might Be Your New Favourite Recovery Snack 🍉

Be A Healthy Woman Healthy Runner

Dear Reader

I’ve always loved food that tastes good and does you good, especially when it fuels my running. This week on EAT TO RUN, I’m sharing one of my ultimate summer favourites: watermelon. 🍉

🍉 A Runner’s Ode to Watermelon

When summer sun begins to shine,
And post-run legs no longer align,
There’s one sweet treat that steals the show,
With juicy drip and cooling glow.

It’s watermelon, fresh and bright,
A hydrating, muscle-loving bite.
With citrulline to aid repair,
And flavours floating through the air.

So if you run and love to eat,
This fruity snack can’t be beat.
Come read my post, you just might see
Why it’s the perfect fuel for me!

Yes, it’s juicy and refreshing, but did you know it could also support circulation, ease muscle soreness, and help you recover faster after a run?

In my latest post, I share:
âś… Why watermelon works as a recovery food
âś… The science behind citrulline and nitric oxide
âś… Easy and delicious ways to enjoy it this summer

Whether you’re blending it into a smoothie, adding to a salad, or simply slicing it straight from the fridge, watermelon is more than just a sweet treat.
